
INSIDEMAINLAND– The Lagos State Government has urged residents to celebrate the Yuletide season with caution and moderation.
The advice was given by Home Affairs Commissioner Anofiu Elegushi in Ikeja during the Ministry of Home Affairs Christian Fellowship 2022 Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons, with the theme “And The Word Was Made Flesh” (John 1:14).
Elegushi stated that the Yuletide is still a time for celebration, but that residents should be cautious when doing so.
“Christmas remains a period of love and sharing,” he said, urging residents to love one another and share what they have.
Mrs. Lolade Aina, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, advised everyone to live in peace with one another.
The Christmas season, according to Venerable Ezekiel Oluwadare, Presiding Chaplain, Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, has a message of humility.
Mr. Lanre Bajulaiye, President of the Ministry of Home Affairs Christian Fellowship, stated that the program was organized to commemorate the reason for the season.
He stated that the reason for the season was to commemorate Jesus’ birth.
