Diversion: Mainlanders, Check out this Traffic Update

INSIDEMAINLAND– The Lagos State Government will redirect traffic from the Maryland/Mende Underpass as part of the Opebi/Ojota Link Bridge construction, starting on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Alternative routes have been planned to reduce traffic while the underpass is being rebuilt, according to a statement signed by Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, Commissioner for Transportation. The statement advises drivers to use the Ojota Interchange to connect Maryland and its surroundings.

Additionally, Oladeinde advised drivers heading to the axis’ inner streets to use Mobolaji Bank Anthony to access Emmanuel, Aderibigbe Shitta, and Adeoye Adeyemi Streets, while those traveling in the direction of Mende and its surroundings should use Mende Street to connect with Ajose Street and connect Oki lane to continue their journey.

In addition, the Commissioner stated that due to unforeseen circumstances, the repairs of a section of the Lagos-bound lane at the Iyana Era/Badagry Expressway, scheduled for the 17th of September, have been postponed until further notice. The Commissioner added that the public would be informed of a new date.

Oladeinde thanked drivers for their understanding and cooperation while reassuring them that officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will be sent to the tough roads in order to minimize inconveniences.

Therefore, he requested the assistance of Lagos residents in relation to the numerous current road development projects throughout the State, noting that the projects are intended to address Lagos’ traffic woes.
