Ikorodu Produces New Chess and Scrabble Champions

INSIDEMAINLAND – As part of its efforts to engage teenagers in the community, the National Association of Ikorodu Division Students, NAIDS National, organised scrabble and chess competitions for youths and school students in Ikorodu Local Government.

Students from Movers Academy, Igbogbo and Windfield College were among participating schools drawn from across Ikorodu. 

The tournament lasted for 4 hours at the registry hall in Ikorodu Local Government secretariat, Ikorodu, Lagos Mainland.

Commenting, the NAIDS president Damilare Kuti said; “In all, we have 35 participants swatting it out in pursuits that will add significance to their potential, intellectually guaranteeing they grow and think faster, with students accruing high points to materialise as eventual winners.

Every participant will be handed out a certificate of participation while the top 3 will be allocated trophies and medals. Later at our utility year event, champions will also be recognised with an award” Damilare concluded

After the two competitive stages of the Scrabble game contestant, Ogbonna Michael came out 1st position,  while Onibudo Abdulrahman and Olaniyan Martins came in second and third place respectively in the scrabble game.

For the chess game, saw Master David Omotayo snagged first place,  and Ogundein Johnson followed in 2nd and Aroloye Emmanuel came in 3rd respectively.
