As it is the norm for residents to want to turn up for Detty December, it is important for us to spotlight the best of events on the Lagos Mainland you can attend without having to break the bank.

In this post, we have carefully selected the best choices to guide you through all the shows, concerts, and general events happening on the Mainland. We have specially curated a guide for Mainlanders and those visiting the Mainland from anywhere in the world!

1. ART EXHIBITION GEOMETRICS

For lovers of art and paintings, this is the event to attend. The Art Exhibition Geometrics is a combined exhibition of photography, film, and abstract paintings.

This exhibition explores the struggles and joy of sickle cell warriors and will run from December 5 to 11, 2021, at The Sami Centre, Surulere, Lagos Mainland.

2. JUNK FEST

Junkfest is the biggest junk food festival of the year offering vintage, salvage, repurposed, handmade, boutique and all things junk for lovers of junk foods.

Hosting over 100 vendors, the Junk Fest will take place at Rowe Park, Herbert Macaulay Road, Yaba, Lagos Mainland on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 12 noon.

Tickets cost N1,000 only and are available for purchase on Junkfest.ng

3. UTOPIA THE HOUSE PARTY

Happening at Kunle Ajagbe Street, Magodo Phase 2, Lagos Mainland, on December 15, 2021, the party is scheduled to start from 4:00 pm till dawn.

Tickets are available online for N2,000 and N3,000 at the venue for anyone interested in attending a midweek party. 

4. CHRISTMAS FAIR

The Christmas Fair is a gathering for entrepreneurs to sell their goods and services, collaborate and gain visibility and media presence.

The Fair is happening at The Lagos Television (LTV), Ikeja from Friday, December 10 to Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Access to the Fair is free for interested participants.

5. GRILL FEST GIDI SEASON 3

The Grill Fest is a gathering of SMEs for product exhibition and Carnival Experience with loads of Music, Dance, Comedy and lots of fun.

The Grill Fest is happening at African Church Primary School, Coker Road, Ogba, Lagos State on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 1:00 pm.

Lovers of anything frilled can plan to attend this food festival as it promises to be lots of fun for attendees.

6.. MUSIC VIBES 2021 YEAR-END SESSION

The event is a gathering where Fans, Artists, Record Labels, Media, connect through Music. The event is open to Music lovers, independent artists and Labels, content creators, corporate brands and executives, media as well as music enthusiasts.

Happening at the Bheerhugs Cafe, Ikeja City Mall, Lagos Mainland, the event kicks off on Friday, December 18, 2021, by 4:00 pm prompt. The event is free, but registration is compulsory on Eventbrite.com

7. MOVIE NIGHT BY CLUB EDIFY

Edify City Movie Night is a social cinema created for young entrepreneurs and upcoming entrepreneurs to unwind, network and have fun.

The event is scheduled to hold on Sunday, December 19, 2021, for movie lovers at 41 Adeyemo Akapo Street Ikeja, Lagos Mainland from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Admission is free but online registration is compulsory.

8. WILD SESSIONS 3 WITH LADY DONLI

Mainlanders who are lovers of alternative music can make plans to attend the Wild Sessions 3 music event headlined by sonorous singer, Lady Donli. The event is scheduled to hold on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Bariga Water Front Jetty by 5:00 pm.

Entry tickets cost 3,000 naira and are available for purchase on Tix.africa.

9. GIDI SLAM BASKETBALL MEETS LAGOS
The basketball event is one of Lagos Mainland’s biggest sporting events as it is scheduled to have Lagos basketballers converge to mix sports with fun. There is a host of activities for non-basketball players like games, karaoke and a food court.

The event is scheduled to hold at the Iyana Oworo Sports Centre, Iyana Oworo, Lagos Mainland Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 10:00 am.  Tickets cost N1,500 and can be purchased on www.park22.org.
