Somolu LG Chairman Awarded For His Performance

INSIDEMAINLAND – The award for the best Nigerian Local Government Chairman has been presented to the Chairman of Solomu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu for his giant strides in all works of life.

According to the Ghanian Director of Face of Africa, Dr Richard Kpoku noted that Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu has distinguished himself with the monthly Elderly People Socio-Welfare programme, even when he is aware of the fact that some people of his class in Africa may prefer to use the fund for something else.

Presenting the award plaque, award certificate and person of the year frame to the Executive chairman, the organizers revealed that the awards were a challenge for the Chairman to do more. He said that the 60 years and above elderly people who come for their welfare package monthly in their thousands are the ones telling people about the “Mr Koseleri” of Somolu, even to the hearing of their children in diaspora. Allyson was joined by Tosin, Gloria Agbor, Denise Oni, Adebayo Adeyemo, Mariam Majek and Taiwo Jamiu.

Similarly, the CMC Africa Awards Initiative team are amazed by the achievements of the Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government, especially in the area of infrastructural development, healthcare, educational support programmes and social welfare as well as empowerment programmes.

Also attesting to the development of the local government, Adenike Owoeye of Superscreen Television narrated how the Chairman made provision of the free health care package for over 600 babies at no charge from the parents.

The award presented by Amb. Cornell Udofia, the Convener of CMC Africa on behalf of Chief Adebisi Aboderin (Patron of CMC Africa) to the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government was described as the Council Chairman of the people who knows where the shoe pinches them.
