INSIDEMAINLAND – A fake policeman parading as the assistant superintendent of police has been nabbed and tried before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Insidemainland reports that the accused, Alexander Ilesanmi who was a former policeman had allegedly defrauded his victim, Mr. Samuel Akporherhe of N385,000 under the pretense of getting a police job for him.
However, the prosecutor, Insp Kenrich Nomayo disclosed that the defendant had impersonated the assistant Superintendent of police, and further revealed that the defendant knew it was a false representation.
He also made it known that the defendant connived with two other suspects to perpetrate the crime in October 2020 and November 2020 at police college, Ikeja.
He said; “The defendant, who was dismissed from the force since 2010 as a CP, disguised as an ASP to the complainant and obtained the money from him.
According to him, the offences violated Sections 77, 314, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Delivering the judgment, the Magistrate, Mrs. O.O Fajana, however, granted the defendant bail of the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Nov .22 for mention.
