The Lagos State Government has approved ten new 56-seater buses for public servants in different parastatals to ease the challenges faced by workers in shuttling to and fro.
Head of Service Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, disclosed this on Wednesday at the ministerial press briefing, organized to commemorate the second year in Office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
Okunola revealed that during the period under review and to ensure that there is a reduction in housing deficit, the present administration provides soft loans, through the means of housing loan subvention, adding that his office, through the Staff Housing Board received a total sum of N408,100,000.00 yearly loan subvention from Mr. Governor and had already been disbursed to 2,097 beneficiaries.
He said the welfare of every public servant is a top priority. The state is committed to ensuring continuous welfare packages, training, and career progression, a move geared towards motivating the workforce towards effective and efficient service delivery to the citizen of the state.
“Welfare incentives by Mr. Governor include, the continuous approval for the procurement and allocation of official vehicles as well as utility vehicles for use of MDAs, State Government appointees and Principal Officers of the State Public Service, in fulfillment of Governor’s promise to strengthen the institutional capacity of MDAs.
He maintained that there is an ongoing renovation, in various Staff Quarters situated state-wide which had immensely added to the aesthetics of Resilient Mega City “Lagos”, just as 821 apartments were renovated and 526 maintained in Amuwo Odofin, Badagry, Alausa, Ogba, Surulere, Ajah, Ikoyi, and Ikorodu axis in the State.
