The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has task Lagos residents to be conscious of illegal and unauthorized personnel in operation within its network in the state.
Spokesperson EKEDC, Godwin Idemudia, made this known in a statement on Monday.
Idemudia noted that they have been reported cases of extortion and illegal connections by people disguising as EKEDC officials in Lagos State.
He further urged residents to be wary and cautious of unlicensed contractors and personnel loitering round the state.
He said, “We advise and we will continue to appeal to our customers to shun all illegal activities and report them to us.
“We also appeal to our customers to report any staff that demands any form of gratification for doing his or her job.
“We do not condone any form of extortion and we will ensure that any offender is brought to book.
“For any cases of extortion or illegal activities, we urge our customers to report to us via our whistleblowing email – firstname.lastname@example.org,” Idemudia stated.
The EKEDC spokesperson, therefore, assured the customers of stable electricity following the implementation of the DisCos’ performance improvement plan.
