Irked by the killing of one of their members by a policeman in the convoy of Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Abuja Newspapers Distributors Association (ANDA) has vowed to stage a protest at the National Assembly and police force headquarters on Friday to demand justice for the victim.
The President of Abuja Newspaper Distributor Association, Comrade Benji Obute, disclosed this in a statement on Friday night .
According to the statement by the association urged all its members to converge at the Area 1 today Friday adding that newspapers would not be shared tomorrow until after the protest.
The union appealed to media houses to cooperate with them to ensure that no paper is leaked out adding that any organisation that violated the directive would be sanctioned.
It was also gathered that the wife of the slain newspaper vendor allegedly shot by a policeman was just put to bed and billed to have the naming ceremony for the bany on Saturday.
Daily Independent had reported how a security detail in the Speaker’s convoy shot and killed one of the newspapers vendors who were haling him in the traffic.
