The Oshodi/Isolo Local government Chairman, Hon Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh, has in strong terms denied the allegations that the council officials demand fees from churches to fumigate their worship centres within the council jurisdiction
The council boss, Hon Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh said his administration has rather fumigated most religious centres, schools and public places in the council free of charge recently so it found it disturbing the rumour that his officials are demanding money from a Pentecostal church for it to be fumigated.
Ariyoh said his administration will not succumb to blackmail from the church and any one that compromises the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control guideline on COVID-19 for reopening of religious centres in the council.
He said: “The Local Government would not be prey to any blackmail or false information by anyone or group of people that compromise the guidelines listed by the state government.
“Any worship center which has complied with the state government directive on fumigation should present its certify certificate to prove it on demand.
“Oshodi-Isolo Local Government would not hesitate to seal any worship center who compromised on the guidelines set by Lagos State Government.”
