The management of Opay has released a statement detailing various reasons why they had to shutdown some facets of their thriving business including ORide and Ofood in Nigeria.
Opay which runs a conglomerate consisiting of various E-commerce outlets like Oride, Ofood, and a newly launched one OExpress. In the statement, the management attributed the failure of those facets of their businesses to shrewd Government policies and the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, the Lagos State Government placed a ban on commercial motorcycles which had an adverse effect on Oride which was one of the platforms generating massive revenue and creating jobs for Nigerians.
Opay also stated that their payment platforms are still available despite the shutdown of some other facets.
