LAWMA reacts to trending video of staff


The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has released a statement debunking the claims of non-payment of 3 months salary made by one of their staff in a trending video on social media.

The state-owned waste management company released a statement reacting to the occurrence and stated that the sweepers in question were engaged by contractors who are responsible for their upkeep, despite this, however, the Authority and indeed the State government prioritize their welfare and well being, hence, they are given adequate care, support and protection.

The statement released by LAWMA also highlighted that the contracted sweepers have been paid for April and the backlog of their remaining salaries already sent to their contractor for onward disbursement,
