Lagos records 17 COVID-19 deaths in two days


No fewer than 17 patients died of COVID-19 related complications in the last 48 hours, InsideMainland reports.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this known in a series of tweets.

On Tuesday,  he announced that “Nine COVID19 related deaths were recorded, bringing total COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos to 59.

Giving an update 24 hours after, the commissioner said, “Eight additional COVID19 related deaths were recorded. Total COVID19 related deaths now stand at 67.”

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Lagos has recorded 5,277 confirmed cases of the coronaviruss. Of these, at least 4,352 are still undergoing treatment, and 858 considered recovered.
