Lagos Lockdown Not Effective- Speaker Obasa

Lockdown not effective

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Mudashiru Obasa has made claims that the lockdown placed on activities in the State has not been effective.

Despite Lagos State being the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria with 506 confirmed cases, Hon.Obasa believes a more domesticated approach should be deployed in enforcing the lockdown if the goal is to be achieved.

Hon.obasa made the recommendation in a series of tweets on his official twitter handle @mudashiru_obasa on Thursday.

He alluded to duplicating incidence Command centres in the Local governments to ensure effectiveness of the lockdown.

He said “Just as we have the incident Command at the State level, can we replicate same at those Local Government with high rising number of #COVID19 . If the lockdown will continue, it is better we move with all strategies.”

The Speaker also commended the efforts of Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu and the State’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Abayomi.

As at today Lagos State has 506 coronavirus cases with 18 deaths.
