by Winifred Okafor

The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command has stated that residents across parts of the Mainland are not complying with the directive of the state government to stay at home in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.

According to the RRS, different officers attached to the unit were mobilized to places such as Ojota, Maryland, Ketu, Alapere, among others following several complaints of residents violating the stay at home directive.

The RRS stated that two ‘danfo’ buses and a Nissan pathfinder that had no reason for being on the road were seized and handed over to Ketu Police Station during the enforcement exercise carried out earlier today.

Meanwhile, residents of Ikorodu community took to the streets to host a gym session earlier today with photos of the session surfacing online.

It was learnt that the gym enthusiasts took over the stretch of Ikorodu from Haruna to Agric bus station to hold their gym session.

The development has since generated mixed reactions across social media platforms with multiple users condemning the actions of the residents who took to the streets to gym.
