Commuters groan over Berger expressway traffic

Earlier today, Wednesday, February 12, 2020, commuters and other roads users plying the Berger end of the popular Lagos-Ibadan expressway were already confined in a heavy traffic gridlock as early as 5:30am.

While commuters struggle to use the road to access their various destinations, a myriad of residents stuck in the traffic took to social media to air their displeasure on the development.

The development has degenerated into public outcry about the ineptitude of both the government and the contractor, Julius Berger, on the road’s construction.

Commuters groaned that the repairs and construction on the road is taking too long while a few others opined that the delay in the completion of the road was caused by corruption and malpractices on the path of the government. 

Presently, motorists plying the route are stuck in the heavy traffic while a few others are trekking to access their various destinations following the absence of buses to convey them to their destinations.

Meanwhile all traffic responders and some government officials are on ground in a bid to manage the situation.
