It is no longer news that the Lagos State Government (LASG) has officially banned commercial motorcycles and tricycles popularly known as Okada and Keke Marwa since February 1st, 2020, and it doesn’t look like the government is relenting anytime soon.
As a result of the ban, residents have begun to feel the consequences of the new law as they have taken to social media pages to air their grievances.
Earlier today, Monday, February 3, 2020, residents and other road users were seen stranded at various bus-stops while others resorted to trekking several kilometres to their destinations.
In addition, commercial bus drivers took the advantage of the situation to hike their fare prices to outrageous amounts knowing commuters would comply because there is no alternative.
Below are some of the reactions from Mainlanders who aired their displeasure on the Okada ban.
