TheChairman Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu popularly known as ‘Dullar’ has restated his commitment to making the residents of Somolu feel the impact of government at the grassroots.
The LG boss made this commitment at the November edition of the monthly welfare package organized by his administration for the elderly people in Somolu at the Local Government Secretariat, today, Monday, November 18, 2019.
According to Dullar who spoke with Ebony Media, the people of his community own the government and not the other way round. He therefore stressed the need for government to reach the people periodically.
Salawu pointed out that the monthly package, which include the distribution of edible commodities such as rice, garri and sweet beans, is done in fulfillment of one of his campaign promises.
It was gathered that the event had in attendance notable politicians known to residents of the local government such as former Chairman, Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe and some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Somolu.
Commenting on the gesture by Dullar, one of the beneficiaries identified as ‘Mama Somolu’ told Ebony Media, “this one is gift from the government; we must get it as Dullar won’t be tired of giving us because God will keep blessing him and his government”.
