President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwunmi Adesina, is currently at G7 Summit in France attended by world leaders from Germany, France, and United States among others.
At the Summit, Adesina, a former Minister of Agriculture, had a few photo-ops with the President of the United States, Donald Trump: Emmanuel Macron of France and the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.
Against the backdrop of this, Nigerians have been praising him on social media and also touting the AfDB boss to contest for the office of the Presidency in 2023 general elections.
A twitter user, Isima Odeh, said, “Akinwumi Adesina is a man of substance. His work ethic leaves so much to admire. His competence can’t be questioned. He has excelled in every position he has occupied.”
“If Nigeria was a serious country ready to compete with the advanced world, we would be grooming the likes of Akinwumni Adesina to become President by 2023,” Mr Stanley Nwabia said in a tweet.
Also reacting, Uche Chuta, tweeting via @nnabros, said, “If Akin Adesina becomes President, over 50% of the diaspora will relocate back to Nigeria. The foreign direct investment (FDI) will also be massive. Various international organizations and companies and countries will be fighting to come invest.”
