RRS deploys officers to Idimu-Council as residents panic over violent clashes

Following the violence that broke out in Council community in Egbe-Idimu LCDA of Lagos Mainland, yesterday, Tuesday, August 6, 2019, officers of the Rapid Response Squad have been deployed to the trouble spot to forestall any further violence.

“Our Head of Operations is presently at Council Area in Ikotun to reinforce our team on the ground and also calm the residents,” the RRS said in a tweet via @rrslagos767ss

It was gathered that one person identified as ‘Iron Body’ was shot dead at about 10pm last night with his body lying on the floor.

The victim, said to be a commercial bus driver, according to residents is popular for fighting in the neighbourhood.

The incident threw residents into panic as motorists were seen avoiding the route this morning (Wednesday).

With the intervention of the RRS, it has appears that relative peace has been restored to the area as the officers have assured residents of safety of life and property.    !
