The Digital Media Practitioners of Nigeria DMPN, has said it would to take legal actions against DMW act, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh popularly known as Peruzzi, for assaulting a Twitter influencer, Mr. Adegoke Pamilerin who is said to be one of the founding members of the DMPN.
In a statement by the group’s Public Relations Officer, Bukola Ogunrinde, the DMPN said it had conducted preliminary investigations into the occurrence and has established that the singer truly assaulted their member.
“We must reiterate that as a civil society, the right thing to do is to settle misunderstandings either mutually through dialogue, law enforcement agencies or in a court of law.
We have zero tolerance for those who take the law into their hands, those who feel they are above the law and those who wish to use their privileges for the oppression of other members of the society,” the statement reads in part.
The assault was reported to have occurred at the opening of club in Bayelsa, owned by popular MC, Denrele Edun, who had invited the duo to the event.
According to reports, Peruzzi attacked the social media personality over what has been described as a disrespectful tweet that was posted in January 2019.
The singer’s show of violence has since drawn widespread criticisms by members of the online community.
