IN AMUWO-ODOFIN: LG Chief suspends Okada riders

The Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Lagos Mainland, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh, has suspended the operations of commercial riders in the local government.

This decision was made after a meeting that involved various stakeholders in the LGA including The Okada Union.

Residents had complained bitterly about the ill-mannered activities of the bike operators, and different stories of how innocent residents are being taken advantage of, vehicles damaged, valuables disposed and accidents that has led to physical disabilities, were shared in the meeting.

The Associations concluded that the most ideal way to ensure that bike operators understand the severe harm they are causing to the community was to suspend the activities of Okada transportation within the Local Government.

The Chief Press Secretary of the Local Government, Mr. Yomi Adejumo, who confirmed the development to InsideMainland stated that the suspension would be imposed until the biometric information of all the riders.

He added that they would also be made to undergo mandatory trainings before the suspension would be lifted.

The suspension would took effect from Monday, 27 May, 2019.   �מ� 5
