BACK TO JAMB? UNILAG student to forfeit admission after testing positive to ‘weed’

The ambition of an intending student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) identified simply as Mr. James to study at the institution has been shattered after he tested positive to marijuana.

The decision was reached after he tested positive to the drug during a medical test conducted by the officials of the higher institution of learning.

In a letter titled “Withdrawal of Provisional Admission”, signed by the Director of Academic Affairs, Mrs. A. O. Ukaiwe, and addressed to affected candidate, the varsity said, “during the series of toxicology tests conducted for newly admitted candidates by the Medical Centre of the University, you tested positive to Marijuana. This is contrary to University policy on drugs.

“In view of the above, your admission is hereby withdrawn.”

The affected student was initially admitted into the institution as part of the students for the 2018/2019 set.
