In line with the goal of the InsideMainland Rescue Team (IRT) to contribute monthly tokens dedicated to helping the needy scattered across different places on the Lagos Mainland, the resce team visited the Ikorodu General Hospital to help those in dire need.
During the visit, the IRT consisting of likeminds who have the interest of the needy at heart worked alongside the Social Welfare unit of the hospital to get a list of ‘indigent’ patients in need before settling their medical bills at the Ikorodu General Hospital.
The patients who benefitted from the December tokens of the IRT group had similar issues from being unable to pay medical bills and buying the cheapest of medications meant to help their health recovery.
One of the patients, Mr. Salami Tola who has been discharged for five days but couldn’t pay for his bills. The IRT team took the issue to settle the medical bills of the stranded patient who had already been abandoned there by his relatives.
In addition, the team bought drugs for two other patients, Mr. Adeniyan Ade and Mr. Adejumo Lookman who so got extra money for his upkeep.
The IRT will continue to keep check on the patients to monitor their health situation as it improves.
This is the second time the IRT is visiting hospitals to help the needy.
In November 2018, the team visited the Gbagada General Hospital to settle the medical bill of a resident who required urgent CT scan to ascertain his ill health before doctors can treat him further.
At the time, the beneficiary, an Uber was diagnosed with partial stroke and needed tests to be carried out to determine his status and how he will be treated.
The team paid for his test and also gave him money for his upkeep.
The IRT consist likeminds who contributes a monthly token of N1000 to help the needy on the Mainland.
