In the aftermath of the deadly cult killings in Igogbo-Baiyeku community, Lagos Mainland, the operatives of the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of six suspects in connection to the incident.
Recall that InsideMainland earlier reported the cult killings that claimed lives and left scores injured in the community. At the time, some of the residents fled their homes as the supremacy tussle continued for several days before normalcy was returned to the troubled community.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said that the cult groups took advantage of a traditional festival going on at Igbogbo-Baiyeku to unleash mayhem in the community.
Oti noted that the security operatives responded to the crisis and arrested six people in connection to the incident. He stated that the suspects had been taken to the state CID in Panti, Yaba for further investigations.
“Hoodlums took advantage of the traditional festival going on at Baiyeku, which led to cult rivalry clash. Six people have been arrested and taken to Panti, while further investigation is ongoing on the matter,” Oti narrated.
Recall that in recent weeks, cult related killings have been recorded across parts of the Lagos Mainland. Residents have witnessed cult clashes around Obanikoro, Mushin, Iyana-Ipaja and Imota to mention a few.
