The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force has cautioned motorists particularly commercial bus drivers to comply with all traffic regulations around construction sites where rehabilitation and construction works or any other developmental projects is on-going across the state.
The Agency revealed that the warning was needed after it observed motorists particularly commercial bus drivers including motorcyclists (okada) plying uncompleted BRT corridors and one-way thereby causing serious obstructions along Lagos-Abeokuta express way.
In a statement signed by Head, Public Affairs Unit, Lagos State Task Force, Adebayo Taofiq, no law permit motorists to ply designated BRT corridors in the state.
“We want to reiterate that there no law that permitted any motorists to be plying uncompleted BRT corridors or driving against on-coming vehicle (one-way) around any construction sites across the State particularly at Lagos-Abeokuta express-way,” he said.
However, motorists are advised to obey directives of traffic officers and conspicuously displayed roads signs around all road construction sites across the State as any motorists caught violating traffic laws would be seriously dealt with.
