18 street traders apprehended in Oshodi; See why here

The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force has arrested 18 street traders around ‘Trade Fair’ complex, Oshodi and charged to court for trading in unauthorized locations.

According to Head, Public Affairs Unit Lagos State Task Force, Adebayo Taofiq, the traders were initially released based on a written ‘undertaken’ with the Agency not to go back to be selling at unauthorized places around the ‘Trade Fair’ but returned to the locations to trade.

He stated that after their initial arrests, the street traders went back to display and sell their wares at same illegal spots around the ‘Trade Fair’ complex.

He added following their arraignment in the court, five of the traders of were ordered to pay a fine of N5000 each to the government while the other 13 were committed to ’48 hours Community Service’ each as a punishment by the court.
