The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a 40 year old painter, identified simply as Mukaila but known popularly as Owawa in Mafoloku, Oshodi, Lagos Mainland, for allegedly defiling a teenager in the community.
According to the Police, the suspect committed the incident in the community in December 2017, in a shop he was engaged to paint before fleeing the area.
He allegedly pounced on the deaf 15-year old girl in the shop and ran after completing the act before anyone could get to him.
He was however nabbed in November 2018, almost a year after, by the policemen attached to Makinde Police Station, Mafoluku Oshodi after the incident was reported at the station.
An arrest warrant was issued on him after he committed the act and he was rounded up by the Police when he was seen in the community.
Community sources told the Police that the suspect through his group, had terrorized the community as land grabbers and was reported to Alausa land grabbers’ unit.
Presently, Mukaila is in the custody of Makinde police station, Oshodi pending the time his case would be addressed by the court after conclusion of investigation.
