IN SOMOLU: Council boss goes tough on criminals, violence

In the aftermath of the recent cult-related killings that rocked Obanikoro, Somolu and environs, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, has frowned at the spike in violence in the community as the 2019 general election draws nearer.

Dullar, as he is fondly called among his followers, expressed his fears while recently addressing Somolu Political Leaders’ at the Somolu Local Government Secretariat, Somolu, Lagos Mainland.

According to him, law enforcement agencies had been made to understand that it’s high time to put an end to the incessant breakdown of law and order and the various activities of miscreants threatening the peace of the community.

“Our government has been working tirelessly to re-brand Somolu and make the community to be safe for residents and visitors, yet some elements are springing up to jeopardize our efforts. We won’t take it,” Dullar said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the council boss said the residents of the community should cooperate with men of the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Army, NDLEA, LNSC and other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe community for all.

He however urged residents to promptly report suspicious activities around them to relevant government security agencies.
