Residents of Dopemu, Fagba, Agege, Akowonjo, and other communities on the Lagos Mainland should brace up for prolonged darkness as the management of power distribution company, Ikeja Electric Plc has announced prolonged power outages in the areas.
According to the company, the prolonged darkness expected to affect residents and business owners in the axis is scheduled to span a period of 16 days between November 5 and 20, 2018.
In an announcement shared about the development, the company said the prolonged outage is to allow for the replacement of obsolete equipment.
According to the company, the rehabilitation work on the replacement of an obsolete 33KV Transformer Control Panels and 11KV Switch Gears will be carried out at Agege Injection Substation.
The company further listed the areas to be affected during the period as Akowonjo, Orile Agege, Dopemu, Maplewood Estate, Abattoir area, Oko-Oba, Labak Estate, Williams Estate, Oyemekun, Iju Road, Harmony Estate, parts of College Road and Iju.
“We are working to ensure that the rehabilitation is completed as scheduled so power can be restored to the affected areas. All inconveniences are deeply regretted as we solicit your kind understanding,” the company added.
