Pandemonium as bloody cultist clash claims three in Obanikoro

Residents of Obanikoro, Onipanu, Somolu, Fadeyi and environs are currently gripped by fear following the killings of three notorious cultists in the community.

According to a resident who craved anonymity, the killings have thrown residents into confusion as it involves a top cult leader Ibrahim Balogun better known as Small Jpron.

“Presently, some residents had moved out of the neighbourhood to seek shelter elsewhere pending the time the unrest will be sorted out,” a source said.

It was gathered that Small Jpron, a notorious cultist and ex-convict, who is on the wanted list of the Police was killed alongside one Solomon and Yesuru by assailants belonging to another cult gang during a political gathering organized by Hon. Ademorin Kuye in the community.

According to the resident, Small Jpron was murdered following the killing of Solomon who belonged to another cult group. “He was targeted by the cult guys who retaliated the death of Solomon, one of their members. The guys said he was there when his group killed Solomon and they had to even the scores.

“The gangs shot freely in the air and disrupted the political meeting since they already had their target down. The killings immediately led to uneasiness in the community as residents fled for safety to avoid been caught in the crossfire,” the source said.

The fight was however brought to an end by the police who arrived quickly to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

Prior to his death, Small Jpron had been arrested by the Police in the past on allegations of murder and cult related activities.

In 2016, he was arraigned for murder, possession of firearms and for belonging to a cult. Shortly after his arrest in 2016, he surfaced in public again with the Police saying he escaped from custody. He has since been on the Police wanted list.
