In the aftermath of the violence and illegalities that marred the recently concluded primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Lagos State, one of the aspirants under the umbrella of the party, Hon. Abdulhafeez Ayodele Oliyide, has challenged the party authorities to reject the results from Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II.
Oliyide alleged that another aspirant, Hon. Ladi Ajomale, alongside his father, the former Lagos State APC Chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale, disrupted primary elections in Isolo, adding that they hijacked the exercise from the representatives of the National Working Committee (NWC) who were supposed to conduct the election.
He claimed that the results sheets were fabricated without the names of other contestants appearing on the list, adding that in some centres, votes were only counted for Ajomale while other aspirants had no votes counted.
In his words; “The former party chairman used his influence to destabilize the exercise by sponsoring some party executive members to manipulate the election for his child whose was nothing to write how about. Only the followers of Ladi Ajomale were counted at major wards such as Akinbaye-Alagbeji, Ajao Estate, while the followers of other contestants were not counted.”
He stressed that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has to urgently intervene on the matter and reject any result brought from Oshodi-Isolo constituency II.
Oliyide who described the process as a rape on democracy said, “As a former State Chairman of the party, Otunba Ajomale was not expected to lobby or impose his child on the constituents if he had done well for the people when he was at the helm of affair.
“People would have welcomed his son and supported him. They would have said this is our leader’s son let us allow him, but instead, the election was turned to Ladi Ajomale’s show. He alone lined up his people, counted them and manipulated the results.
“They wrote arbitrary figures for each candidate in the score sheet which was signed by the umpires present at the wards. They even forgot to include the name of a particular contestant in the score sheet because the contestant was not popular.
“I have all the evidence to back my claims. I have a video clip which shows that only Ajomole’s people were counted with inflated figures.”
Similarly, the aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Habeeb Anibaba, has petitioned the National working Committee (NWC) of the party on the grounds of gross misconducts that engulfed the whole exercise in Ejigbo and Isolo, urging the party to declare the exercise void.
He alleged that the exercise was disrupted by loyalists of a the party who influence the events at the voting centres.
