Ahead of the primaries of Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for members to elect choice candidates in the 2019 general elections, information reaching InsideMainland has it that party leaders and members in Alimosho Local Government has moved to dump the incumbent politician representing Alimosho Constituency 01 in the Assembly, Honourable Bisi Yusuf , for another candidate.
It was gathered that the members of the constituency backed by party leaders have concluded plans to withdraw support for Hon. Yusuf who is currently serving his second term and declare support for another candidate, Hon. Rotimi Ogunwuyi popularly known as O’legal.
According to Alimosho Mail, a party loyalist said the constituents of Alimosho constituency 01 “has decided that Hon. Bisi Yusuf should tow the way of Mr Akinwunmi Ambode as they have vowed not vote for him even if he is imposed on them.”
The source said although efforts are being made by the Executive Governor of State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to persuade them to allow him for another term, the members are insisting that Ogunwuyi is their recognized candidate for forthcoming general elections in 2019.
It was reported that efforts are currently ongoing to resolve the brouhaha from the development as members have been advised to remain calm while the matter is resolved before the end of today as the primary is designed to hold on tomorrow, Friday, October 5, 2018.
Meanwhile unconfirmed reports has it that the duo of Honourable Olufemi Adebajo representing Alimosho Federal constituency and Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi, representing Lagos West Senatorial district are coasting to victory in their primary elections for the two available slots in the National Assembly.
This may have been anticipated following the withdrawal of one of the major contenders for the senate seat, Honourable Kayode Opeifa earlier today from the primary.
