The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the primaries to elect the gubernatorial candidate of the party to Monday, October 1, 2018.
According to the spokesman of the party, Joe Igbokwe “the postponement was timely so that we can go to church”.
Recall that the gubernatorial primary was originally supposed to hold today Saturday, September 29, 2018, before it was shifted to Sunday, September 30, 2018, and now Monday, October 1, 2018.
Meanwhile, one of the aspirants under the umbrella of the party, Mr. Babafemi Hamzat, has stepped down for his counterpart, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
It was learnt that party leaders backing Sanwo-Olu to emerge victorious in the primary reached an agreement with Hamzat and he agreed to the discussions alongside becoming the running mate of Sanwo-Olu.
In addition, the Governor Advisory Council in Lagos Sate has endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu. According to the Chairman of the GAC, Senator Adefuye, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is the party’s most preferred candidate.
