Information reaching us at InsideMainland has it that Mr. Babafemi Hamzat, one of the aspirants in the Lagos State gubernatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stepped down for his counterpart, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
It was learnt that party leaders who are backing Sanwo-Olu to emerge victorious in the primary slated to hold tomorrow, Sunday, September 30, 2018, have reached an agreement with Hamzat and he agreed to the discussions.
Sources in the party told InsideMainland that Hamzat might be presented as the running mate to Sanwo-Olu ahead of the primary and the forthcoming general elections. In addition, Hamzat, it was gathered would have nominations for some Commissioner slots should they emerge victorious in the election.
The Mandate Movement, a faction of the APC, loyal to the party national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, were alleged to have endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu to succeed Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Meanwhile, InsideMainland gathered that at the Parliamentary meeting held on yesterday, September 29, 2018 at the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex, members unanimously resolved to support the position of the leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in the state on the endorsement of Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu as the APC Gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 election.
The meeting was attended by 36 out of the 40 Honourable members in the House of Assembly.
