The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has warned candidates sitting for the ongoing WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2018-Second Series to beware of fake leaked exams answers from Serria-Leone, Gambia.
In a statement signed by the Head Public Affairs, Mr. Demianus Ojijeogu, and obtained by InsideMainland, the Council said its attention has been “drawn to the activities of fraudsters that is capable of jeopardizing the performance of gullible candidates ongoing WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2018-Second Series in Nigeria.
“The Council have observed with dismay that past questions were being pasted via WhatsApp and criminal websites by fraudulent individuals, which they claim are that of yet to be written papers.”
Stressing that questions of examinations written in other countries were being circulated in Nigeria as the ones to be freshly written, the body warned unsuspecting candidates to desist from patronizing the criminals as the leaked exam papers were ‘fake’.
“The success of our candidates is our major concern and the Council wishes to advise all candidates not to fall prey to these fraudsters but rather concentrate on their studies,” the statement concluded.
