Dayo Israel, the Lagos Mainland politician seeking to represent the interest of his constituents at the Lagos State House of Assembly in the forthcoming general elections held a grassroots engagement programme targeted at businesswomen in the community at the weekend.
InsideMainland gathered from the camp of the politician that more than 700 residents of communities under the Lagos Mainland constituency attended the occasion where seed funds were disbursed to traders to help their businesses.
According to Dayo, “the idea behind the Grassroots Women Empowerment Program was to assist in providing funds to fund Lagos Mainland Women from various wards with seed funds to support their businesses.”
InsideMainland learnt that beneficiaries of the seed funding numbering about 700 went home with at least a sum of N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) each at the end of the event which had popular celebrities and other leading stakeholders in attendance.
Sources in the camp of the politician told InsideMainland that he has also concluded plans to host the ‘Back to School’ project targeted at school children on the Lagos Mainland.
Under the initiative which is in its third edition, Dayo supports school kids with school bags and kits as they prepare to get back to their respective schools.
The ‘Back to School’ project is scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Savage Compound, Apapa Road, Ebute Metta West, Lagos Mainland.
