In the last few years, residents of Isawo community, Ikorodu, Lagos Mainland, have been faced with a torrid time whenever it rains in the area. This is as a result of the dilapidated state of the current link road in the community.
Although the community leaders alongside residents have made efforts to alleviate the pains of residents who ply the road daily, the efforts have only worked during the dry season.
Presently, the current state of the Isawo road that links Agric, Ikorodu, is in a sorry state due to the torrential rainfall witnessed across parts of the Lagos Mainland.
At the moment, residents barely use their vehicles in the axis as a result of the damage lack of attention had caused to the road.
“We have accepted our fate. If the government can even bring a tractor to grade the road with proper drainage channels, it would be fair than what we have at the moment. Maybe they would remember us during the forthcoming electioneering campaign,” a resident told InsideMainland.
Recall that InsideMainland earlier reported the flood that ravaged the community in 2017 and how few residents made brisk business backing others to cross the flooded road.
