Residents of Jakande Estate and Oke-Afa communities, Lagos Mainland, are currently living under fear following the discovery of a tent filled with cutlasses, axes, machetes and other ammunition in the community.
It was gathered that the weapons’ filled tent was discovered around West Coast, a notable suburb in the area, with no one been able to identify the owners of the items.
This development has led to the residents seeking protection from the Ejigbo Police Division to guide against a looming disaster and insecurity in the community. in addition, the residents have called for security checks within and around the communities.
Meanwhile, on noticing the weapons, the residents set the tent on fire, while the weapons were taken to the Police at Ejigbo Division and kept as evidence.
In addition, the residents sought the help of officers of the Lagos State Neighborhood Corps (LSNC) to assist them in curbing what appears as a threat to their lives and properties.
However, the Police have allayed fears of the residents by assuring them that necessary actions would be taken to curtail such happenings.
