Ambode, Tinubu, others, to grace inaugural ‘Kosoko Memorial Lecture’

As part of the plans to ensure the workforce especially the viable youths are actively involved in the development of the society, the organizers of the ‘Kosoko Memorial Lecture’ have announced that major stakeholders including the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode alongside other eminent personalities would grace the maiden edition of the series billed to hold this weekend.

The series is aimed at projecting the ideals and cultural values of the society in the modern era and the personality behind ‘Kosoko’ as a King with an in-depth analysis on his antecedents. The event is scheduled to hold at the Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos on Saturday, July 28, 2018.

The event is scheduled to have in attendance the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Osuolale Aremi Akiolu, the former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other eminent dignitaries. Other Other guests expected at the event were chief Abiola Dosunmu, the Erelu of Lagos, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi and Alhaja Mutiat Alli-Balogun,

The keynote speaker for the memorial lecture is Princess Adetope Kosoko while Mr Supo Sasore will be presenting the lead paper on the theme “The Travail And Triumph of King Kosoko: Lesson For Today’s Leaders”.

In addition, Dr Michael Olusegun Fajuyigbe of the department of Fine and applied Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Mr Kehinde Adepegb; lecturer from the department of Art and Industrial Design, Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Prince Abiola Olojo-Kosoko and Prince Jide Kosoko and others will be presenting various papers on the central theme.

According to Prince Abiola Olojo Kosoko, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, “the event is subdivided into three sessions; paper presentation, socio – cultural parade and exhibition of King Kosoko relics. This event will provide a platform for indigenous cultural parade that emanate during the reign of King Kosoko and those that got prominence as a result of his person.”

He added that “during the event, the King Kosoko youth forum will give awards to individuals and corporate organizations that have continuously supported the fabric of indigenous Lagos heritage.”
