Residents of Apapa community, Lagos Mainland can now heave a sigh of relief as the gallant operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) attached to the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended the robbery syndicate terrorizing residents of the community.
According to the RRS, the syndicate specializes in dispossessing victims in the axis of their valuables using Keke Napep as shield.
“The robbers use their Keke to take passengers under the guise of taking them to their respective destinations. They would, however, make a detour in the middle of the journey taking the passengers to desolate places to rob them of their belongings,” the RRS source told InsideMainland.
The suspects numbering three comprises two middle-aged men and an adult woman who forms the dreaded Keke robbery gang.
An investigation is currently ongoing on further activities and other members of the gang and they would be prosecuted according to the law, InsideMainland learnt.
