Motorists and residents in Ojota and Igando communities on the Lagos Mainland were thrown into discomfort today, Tuesday, June 19, 2018, following the auto accidents that occurred in the areas.
In Igando, InsideMainland gathered that a serious accident involving a tanker loaded with diesel and a car occurred along Hotel bus stop inward igando – Isheri Road.
The accident led to residents in the axis scampering for safety as a result of fear due to the contents of the tanker spilling on the road.
It was gathered that the rescue team of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and Lagos State Fire Service were immediately deployed to the scene to salvage the situation.
In addition, motorists plying the usually busy road were promptly alerted to use alternative routes.
Similarly, a Volkswagen Passat car caught fire on the popular Ojota Bridge at about 2:17pm with the operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) taking charge of the situation to prevent loss of lives and properties.
While urging motorists to drive carefully around the area, the officers noted that they are working with other rescue officers mobilized to the scene to deal with the situation.
