The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspect, Nurudeen Bakare, for allegedly stabbing his mother, Bosede Bakare, to death at their residence in Mushin, Lagos Mainland.
According to reports, the suspect had been threatened to carry out the act on his mother for a long time before committing the act on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
The suspect was said to have been away from the home for over a decade and recently returned to the area to join his mother.
His elder brother, Sunday Tifase, who reported the matter to the Police, said the suspect allegedly stabbed his mother with a knife in her stomach and neck without any reason.
The suspect was alleged to have accused his mother, popularly called Iya Fali, of sitting on his father’s property, warning that he felt like killing someone.
Commenting on the incident, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Chike Oti, said Bakare had been arrested and taken to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) at Panti, Yaba, Lagos Mainland.
