IN AGEGE: Here’s why LASG goes tough on supermarkets

Officials of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) stormed Agege community, Lagos Mainland, to inspect supermarkets in the axis for fake and expired products.

InsideMainland learnt the officials combed minimarts, supermarkets and other stores along Onipetesi, Agege, to check if the business operators ensure abide by the regulations guiding expired products.

It was gathered that the action led to a mild struggle among some mart operators with fear of been sanctioned by the officials if found culpable of breaching any act.

Residents, however, lauded the move by the Agency saying it would bring back the trust in the minds of the buyers who are the end users of the products sold by the supermarkets which can be very harmful to the health of consumers.
