UNILAG reacts to alleged sexual harassment claim involving lecturer

The management of the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG), Yaba, Lagos Mainland, has reacted to the viral report of sexual harassment involving one of its lecturer. The institution noted that it will investigate thoroughly the report which had trended with social media users calling for the prosecution of the lecturer involved.

In a statement signed by the Communication Unit, Corporate Affairs Directorate, UNILAG, the institution noted that the “management will tackle the allegation with every sense of responsibility and seriousness that the matter deserves. The issue will be thoroughly investigated with transparency.”

On the management’s zero tolerance for allegations pertaining to sexual impropriety, the school stated further that; “We wish to reassure all our stakeholders, students, parents, members of staff and the general public that management will not treat this matter with levity.

“Management will tackle the allegation with every sense of responsibility and seriousness that the matter deserves. The management also called for information from members of the university community, as well as pledged to keep information provided confidential and providers protected.”
