Surulere lawmaker, Femi Gbaja takes fight against estimated billing to the House

The lawmaker representing Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has taken the fight against power disco companies over estimated billings to the Federal House of Representatives.

According to recent developments, the to Criminalize Estimated Billing by Electricity Distribution Companies in Nigeria sponsored by the lawmaker in the House has been debated and passed for second reading.

Giving details on the Bill, Hon. Gbajabiamila said “you will recall that a few weeks ago I presented a Bill to Criminalize Estimated Billing by Electricity Distribution Companies in Nigeria which was debated and passed for 2nd reading on 17th April, 2018.”

He noted further that a public hearing on the Bill comes up on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the House of Reps Complex saying “anyone or group interested in making a presentation can send their memoranda to my office, Suite 4.26, House of Reps. Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja for onward transmission to the House Committee on Power.”

Recall that Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who has been vocal about the estimated billings by the disco company recently took to social media platform, Twitter, urging residents to share their complaints on the activities of disco companies with his office.

The move drew wide applause from residents who commended the lawmaker currently serving his fourth term in office where he represents Surulere Federal Constituency.
