Police bursts WAEC fraud syndicate in Lagos

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended suspects who are members of a syndicate group for allegedly specializing in selling ready-made questions and answers to participants mostly during the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) organised WASSCE exams.

This is just as WAEC clarified viral reports about the leak in the question papers for the ongoing 2018 edition of WASSCE.

In a statement signed by the WAEC management, tell body said “the question paper for the ongoing WASSCE for school candidates 2018 did not leak as been erroneously reported.”

“Leakage can be said to have occurred when the question papers get into the hands of individuals who are not supposed to have them before the time schedule on the timetable.

“Without any iota of doubt, the Council wishes to state that no case of leakage has been established since the beginning of the examination,” the body added.

In addition, the Council condemned the actions of school principals, supervisors, invigilators and other officials who are fond of smuggling their mobile phones and other gadgets into the examination halls to snap question papers.
