Pandemonium as drunk NDLEA officer hacks civil servant to death in Agege

There was apprehension in Agege Local Government, Lagos Mainland, earlier today, Tuesday, April 24, 2018, after an officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) hacked a civil servant to death in the area.

It was gathered that the deceased identified simply as Samuel Koro-toe prior to his death, was a staff of Alimosho Local Government and was at the local government area to attend the ongoing 40th year celebration of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

Agege Pulse reports that trouble ensued after some heavily drunk NDLEA officers whose office is situated in the council premises fired sporadic shots into the air.

The actions of the drunk officers reportedly drew indignation from the council’s staff members, particularly NULGE executives who protested against the vile act.

The reaction infuriated the NDLEA officers and they reportedly went overboard shooting sporadically. One of the officers eventually attacked Koro-toe with a machete.

The victim, Koro-toe was later pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the injuries sustained from the machete cut.

Upon realizing the impact of his actions, the NDLEA officer immediately fled the scene but some of his colleagues were arrested by the Police.

InsideMainland gathered from sources at the council that the prompt arrival of the Police operatives averted a reprisal attack from the already agitated NULGE members.

Also, the Chairman of the Lagos State TaskForce, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi alongside some other security officers immediately rushed to the area to prevent a breakdown of law and order, InsideMainland reliably gathered.

Presently, some of the arrested NDLEA officers have been detained at Area G Police station, Ogba, Lagos Mainland while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
