How Ebute – Ikorodu residents celebrated coronation of new monarch

Hundreds of Ebute – Ipakodo residents including their friends and families across Ikorodu community stormed the newly revamped Ikorodu Ferry Terminal venue of the coronation ceremony of the new monarch of the community, HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashir Aremu Sotonwa.

The venue of the event came alive with music and lots of performances from talented local musical acts who graced the occasion to celebrate the monarch who ascended the throne almost two decades after the passing of the former King.

At the event, the new Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Sotonwa was dressed in a traditional attire and acknowledged cheers from the crowd, which had gathered to felicitate with him.

The event had in attendance members of the Royal family, as well as Kingmakers in the community including government functionaries among several others.

Recall that the new Sekumade of Ebute came out of Ipebi, the spiritual seclusion home, where he spent several days after his ascension to the throne on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
