The N1K Miracle seeking to raise N5m for the sick in Gbagada

For some members of the society, touching and contributing to the wellbeing of people especially the lives of the sick is what brings them joy. Such is the case of the 1K Miracle group who have set out to touch lives of sick people across parts of the Lagos Mainland.

The team comprises a loose group of young professionals who have come together to touch lives especially the sick at the Gbagada General Hospital by contributing a token of N1,000 every two weeks and gifting it at the end of the month to the sick.

Commenting on the initiative, the visioner, Chile Udemgba, a young banker, said: “the idea struck me as I do my usual round of jogging at the Gbagada General Hospital. The distraught look in the faces of the poor patients galvanised me to put this group together.”

On the impact by the group since initiation, Udeagba said: “We thank God we have given out about N1,000,000.00 (One million naira) to about 16 families in the last three months from just N1,000 contributions.”

Meanwhile, the group who recently had a meet and greet have made a desire of raising the sum of N5million from N1,000 contributions to be shared to sick and privileged families by December 2018.

In the past, the group had handed monies to those in need including a LASTMA officer, a nursing mother, an accident victim, among other sick patients at the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos Mainland.
